Trish’s
Tiny Tots April Newsletter
April showers bring May flowers… Right? Goodness we
hope so! Our Tiny Tots are anxious to start planting our spring flowers and
vegetables. This is the time of year we begin some outdoor bubble blowing,
sidewalk chalk, jump roping, kite flying and much more! Outdoor sensory seems
to always be full of endless, open ended activities for children to explore and
learn. We never miss an opportunity to learn something new.
This Month: During this month
we will be talking about Farm Animals,
Spring into Reading and Watch Us Bloom! We will continue the process of
learning each individual letter per week (we are almost to the end of the alphabet!)
as well as additional curriculum such as two letter sounds, and site words. We
will learn the sounds of the letters, the sign and practice writing them. The
children have gotten about half way through their ABC books, and are looking
forward to showing off their finished products to their families! We will talk
about shapes, colors and numbers and continue to review them for consistency.
We will be learning about the months of the year, days of the week and the
weather! Each week we will also talk about principles such as kindness,
honesty, forgiveness and patience. I encourage you all to review the work the
children take home. I would like them to share with you the topics they learn
about, so as parents you can continue to review with them for consistency.
Family
Pictures: Thank you for providing pictures for our family
board. I have been diligently working on
this very special addition to our classroom. Please take some time to have your
child show you their special pictures and those of their friends. As their
teacher, I love for the children to be able to talk with each other about their
families. Family photos in the classrooms facilitate these conversations. If
you have not yet had a chance to provide pictures, it is not too late! I have
left plenty of room for everyone’s family pictures on our family board.
Birthdays: This month we will be celebrating Nathan’s 2nd Birthday and Kipton’s
3rd Birthday! We will sing songs and have a special time during the day
dedicated to celebrating these precious little Tiny Tots! Nathan and Kipton, your
presence has been such a blessing to Trish’s Tiny Tots. We look forward to watching you both continue
to blossom as time goes by.
CLOSURES: Due to an unavoidable appointment we will be closed Monday, April 29th.
SIDE NOTE: I have begun a handmade candle making and primitive
home décor business to work on during the weekends and evenings. Please check
out my website where you can view the primitive designs, see the list of scents
available and even be able to purchase right online!. This started as a hobby
for me, but it has become a therapeutic process that has led me to passionately
create a very rewarding business.
