Trish’s Tiny Tots September Newsletter

“If a child is given love, he becomes loving ... If he's helped when he needs help, he becomes helpful. And if he has been truly valued at home ... he grows up secure enough to look beyond himself to the welfare of others.”

September has come and it is BACK TO SCHOOL for all of our school aged children. What an amazing summer we had here at Trish’s Tiny Tots.  Although there is so much fun to be had in the sun, I think we are all ready for a dose of Washington’s crisp fall wondrous weather.

This Month: Weekly Lesson plans will be themed around Back to school, Manners, Apples N’ Ants and Bees N’ Bananas! We will also be celebrating Grandparents day by making handmade treasures for these very important people in our lives. We will begin the process of learning each individual letter per week as well as additional curriculum such as two letter sounds, and site words. We will learn the sounds of the letters, the sign and practice writing them. We will talk about shapes, colors and numbers and continue to review them for consistency. We will be learning about the months of the year, days of the week and the weather! Each week will also talk about principles such as kindness, honesty, forgiveness and patience. I encourage you all to review the work the children take home. I would like them to share with you the topics they learn about, so as parents you can continue to review with them for consistency.

Family Photos: If you are a rather new enrollment or have not had an opportunity; please send a photo or two of your family for our family board.  This helps facilitate conversations between children and also gives them a sense of security.  J

Closures: Trish’s Tiny Tots will be closed in observance of Labor Day on Monday, September 2nd.

Immunization Forms: It is that time of year again for parents to update their child’s immunization forms.  I will be supplying copies of the form for your convenience and will need them returned as soon as possible (within the week).

Reminders: I will be transporting EES students M - F during the a.m. hours of 7:40 – 8:05 and Wednesdays from 8:40 – 9:05.  I will be picking these students up between the hours of 2:15 and 2:50. Please be sure you are aware of these times I am in transit.

I am earnestly working on and interviewing qualified staff members to establish an assistant for our growing childcare family.  Thank you all for your patience during this time.

Love and Blessings,
Trish

Trish’s Tiny Tots SUMMER TIME Newsletter

Welcome Summer! Soon our days will be filled with warm weather and water sensory activities! Please be sure to sign a sunscreen form and bring a new bottle of sunscreen for your child to avoid sunburns as we spend our days outdoors. As we wrap up the end of our preschool year, I want to congratulate our sweet little Miss Ellie for her exceptional performance in our Preschool Program! Miss Ellie has graduated with honors :) We are so very proud of her!!!!

Preschool During Summer Break: Monthly Lesson plans will be themed around water safety, safe practices for stranger dangers, Mr. Yuk and all of his icky chemicals which will harm our bodies and learning about the importance of doctors and dentists! Since we have gotten to the end of our alphabet and our preschoolers have done so well in this area of retention,  we will continue this process of ABC review. We will continue to practice  the sounds of the letters and the sign. We will talk about shapes, colors and numbers and continue to review them for consistency as well. We will be learning about the months of the year, days of the week and the weather! Each week will also talk about principles such as kindness, honesty, forgiveness and patience. As always, I encourage you all to review the work the children take home. I would like them to share with you the topics they learn about, so as parents you can continue to review with them for consistency. This summer we are taking full advantage of review, review, REVIEW!!!

School Age Summer Break: During nap time I will have the school agers work on IXL and age appropriate books to keep their minds fresh for the next years school challenges.  Please bring any books your children may enjoy reading or ones they are struggling with so I can help them through their problematic areas.

Births: We would like to welcome Jax Durham, Abby Bell and Mae Karlin as our precious newborn additions to the Tiny Tot family.  What sweet and beautiful blessings you are to your family's and to us.  Babies are truly a gift from above! We look forward to watching you grow and learn as the years go by! Congrats to the Durham's, the Bell's and to the Karlin's!

Closures: We will be closed July 4th and 5th in observance of Independence Day. We will also be closed August 30th through September 2nd in observance of Labor Day.

Vacation Time: I will be taking my annual 2 week vacations on the following dates:

July 15th through July 19th
&
August 19th through August 23rd

Two weeks (10 days) of provider's vacation is paid vacation; at which time tuition will still be due, but at half the rate of the contracted weekly amount.  One of these weeks is utilized for all annual, mandatory family appointments which cannot be made during regular operating hours and the other week is for personal vacation time with my family.  This tuition will be due one working day before vacation time is taken.  Proper notice is given through this Newsletter and is posted in the Foyer as well, so parents have time to provide back-up childcare for their children.  Please keep in mind that I work very hard and rarely close.  I am very committed to serving the needs of your families but need to also reserve time to take care of my family as I am not able to schedule time off during regular scheduled hours.
