Trish’s Tiny Tots July Newsletter
"You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness. You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism."

Welcome July! I hope all of our Tiny Tot Daddy’s had a wonderful celebration with your families on Father’s Day.  Each child was anxious to give their Daddy’s their very special donut (mostly excited to share it with them) as well as sharing the little treasures they had been working on here. Our Tiny Tot Daddy’s are so loved and appreciated for all of their devotion, leadership and strength they contribute to our families.
June was an adventurous time for Trish’s Tiny Tots as we celebrated Father’s Day, talked about the fun and safety of camping and fishing outdoors and as we anticipate Independence Day we made some fun flags and firework displays while learning the importance of following firework safety guidelines.  June was also Trish’s Tiny Tots ONE YEAR anniversary! Thank you to all of my amazing families who have been a part of my journey, and for those who have recently joined. I look forward to sharing my love and guidance with your precious children each and every day and I feel so blessed for the opportunity. As we have entered our summer season, we have begun to use water sensory as part of our outdoor activities (weather permitting). Please send in a bathing suit, towel and water shoes (or old sneakers that can get wet) as well as sunblock and a signed permission slip if it has not been sent in. Please do not send them in a plastic bag as this can be hazardous to young children. A canvas bag with a short handle is preferred. All bags will be in the children’s cubbies so please check for wet bathing suits and towels.
Our program has made a few adjustments as we comply with the new WAC’s recently introduced for childcare providers in Washington State.  You will notice some changes on our playground, as well as additional posted material and an updated Parent Policy for your review, reference and signature.  If you have not yet updated your Parent Policy, please see me. Also, please note that the weekly lesson plans and menus have been moved to the preschool room instead of the foyer. Please take some time to check out the new material posted. There have been updates to emergency procedures as well, which has been quite the blessing for all childcare facilities because the safety of your precious children is THE most important task we must be entrusted to accomplish. All of these administrative changes have really allowed me to see many more opportunities we can take advantage of to serve our families with the best care possible for your children.
This Month: Weekly Lesson plans will be themed around Happy Birthday America, Surf’s Up, Country Fair, Puppet Madness and Friendship Week! We will continue the process of ABC review as well as additional curriculum such as two letter sounds, and site words. We will learn the sounds of the letters, the sign and practice writing them. This month we are really going to focus on writing our names.  Many of our preschoolers have achieved this already, and many are really, really close! We will talk about shapes, colors and numbers and continue to review them for consistency. We will be learning about the months of the year, days of the week and the weather! Each week will also talk about principles such as kindness, honesty, forgiveness and patience. I encourage you all to review the work the children take home. I would like them to share with you the topics they learn about, so as parents you can continue to review with them for consistency.
Birthdays: Happy Birthday to our little Miss Ellie, Claire and Ryder!
Closures: Trish’s Tiny Tots will be closed August 6th through August 10th for my annual vacation time with my family.  Please remember tuition is still due at half the rate of the contracted amount. In addition we will also be closed August 27th through August 31st as I prepare for the school year and schedule our family’s required annual appointments.  Please keep in mind that I work very hard, and rarely close.  I am very committed to serving the needs of your families but need to also reserve time to take care of my family as I am not able to schedule time off during regular scheduled hours. Thank you for all of your understanding and support!!
Love and Blessings, Trish
